Welcome To Talk in Time,
A Calm, Supportive Space to Be Heard
Welcome. I’m Lisa, and I offer a confidential, compassionate space where young people and adults (17+) can explore life’s challenges at their own pace. My approach is grounded in empathy, understanding, and gentle guidance, helping you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or simply too heavy to manage alone. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, major transitions, long-term health conditions, or the pressures of everyday life, my sessions provide time to pause, reflect, and regain perspective.
Every session is shaped around your needs. You’ll be met with patience, respect, and care, allowing you to feel truly heard as you work through whatever has brought you here.
Hello!
I’m Lisa
I’ve always been fascinated by people and the stories they carry — how our experiences shape the way we think, feel, and connect with the world. Listening has always come naturally to me, and it’s what guided me towards becoming a counsellor.
In my work, I aim to provide a calm, supportive presence where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without pressure or judgment. My approach is client-led, so each session focuses on what matters most to you, moving at a pace that feels comfortable and safe.
Here, you can take the time to reflect, be heard, and begin to make sense of whatever life has brought your way.
MEET THE TERAPIST
Rachel Thompson
Therapist
I started my career not really knowing what I wanted to do, but I knew I liked people. I’ve always enjoyed listening to and talking to people, hearing their story, what makes them tick. From a very early age I wanted to be a counsellor, but felt I needed some life experience behind me to give me some credibility. I’ve held many jobs over the years from being a bar maid, a soldier in the Territorial Army, a university lecturer, and a business advisor and now a counsellor.

WHAT I CAN HELP WITH
- Anxiety
Anxiety can show up as constant worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, or feeling overwhelmed. It may affect sleep, concentration, or everyday routines.
Counselling provides a calm, supportive space to explore what triggers these feelings and discover practical ways to manage them. Therapy helps you feel more grounded, build resilience, and regain a sense of control over your life.
- Depression
Depression can influence your mood, energy, motivation, and how you relate to yourself and others. It can leave you feeling disconnected or stuck.
Through therapy, we explore the factors behind these feelings, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop strategies to support emotional wellbeing. The aim is to help you feel more balanced, connected, and able to engage with daily life.
- Bereavement & Loss
Experiencing loss can bring complex emotions, changes in relationships, and shifts in day-to-day life. Grief is unique to each person and can affect people in different ways.
Counselling offers a compassionate space to talk openly about your loss, process your emotions, and find ways to adjust. Sessions are guided by your individual experience, allowing healing at a pace that feels right for you.
- Self-Esteem & Confidence
Low self-esteem can affect your confidence, decisions, and relationships. It may involve negative self-beliefs, self-criticism, or difficulty recognising your strengths.
Therapy provides a safe space to explore these patterns and understand how they developed. Together, we work to nurture self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a stronger, more balanced sense of self.
- Life Transitions & Change
Major life changes — such as career shifts, retirement, or other transitions — can bring uncertainty, stress, and emotional challenges.
Counselling supports you in navigating these changes, offering space to reflect, adjust, and build strategies to cope with new circumstances with clarity and confidence.
- Long-Term Health & Vicarious Trauma
Living with ongoing health conditions or supporting others through trauma can be emotionally and physically draining.
Therapy provides a supportive environment to process these experiences, manage stress, and explore ways to maintain wellbeing while navigating these challenges.
